Dr. James Reed, DVM became interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine when he was 12 years old. After completing his undergraduate and master’s degree studies at the University of Maryland, he went on to earn his Veterinary degree at the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his degree in 1987 and then returned to Annapolis to practice in the community where he spent many of his childhood years. His interest in the legacy of the Annapolis Animal Hospital occurred after looking for an opportunity to practice in a small and more personal hospital.
Dr. Reed is active in the Annapolis community. He is a past president of the Anne Arundel Veterinary Medical Association, and a past member of the Animal Control Board. Dr. Reed remains active in the state of Maryland’s Veterinary Medical Association and is a past president, vice president, and treasurer and recently received a lifetime achievement award for his work over the past 20 years.
He and his wife currently reside in Annapolis. He enjoys sailing and power boating as well as water and snow skiing.
