We have a compassionate, experienced and knowledgeable staff of technicians and receptionists. Most of our support staff have been with us for over 6 years and have developed bonds with our patients and their owners. Our clients feel “at home” when they visit our hospital and they know that we treat their pets as if they were our own. We are proud of our reputation for providing personalized “one on one” care for every one of our patients.
Linda Layfield, Office Manager, has been with the Annapolis Animal Hospital since 1992. She started as a technician, then worked as a receptionist and is now the office manager. Linda loves the fact that she has been able to work around animals alongside an incredible group of people. She and her husband live with their Standard Poodle Sherlock, and their Irish Setter Shayleigh. Linda enjoys grooming and training her dogs and spends much of her free time with her children and grandchildren. She is a member of the Kennel Club of Anne Arundel.
Jennifer Cook, Veterinary Technician, has worked at the Annapolis Animal Hospital since 1999 and has been in the veterinary field since 1996. She is the proud mother of a beautiful little girl named Calista. They own 2 French Bulldogs, Hunter and Daisy and 2 guinea pigs, Elsa and Anna. When she’s not juggling work, dogs and family, Jennifer enjoys reading and relaxing with a glass of wine.
Melloni Turpin-Harrell, Receptionist, is part of our client services team . She has been a member of The Annapolis Animal Hospital staff since 2002. Understanding and sharing our clients’ passion for their pets is what she does best. Melloni is a wrestling mom of two wonderful sons and she enjoys watching them compete at the division 1 level and seems to travel to the end of the earth to do so. Melloni’s hobbies, of course, are her Rhodesian Ridgebacks. She shows them in confirmation and is a mentor for others involved with the breed. Melloni is a member of the Kennel Club of Anne Arundel and the Chesapeake Bay Rhodesian Ridgeback club.
Kelly Howard, Veterinary Technician, has been with the Annapolis Animal Hospital since 1995, with the exception of a few years she took off to stay home with her 2 daughters. She and her daughters, and her husband and his 2 daughters, live on a farm on the Eastern Shore. Kelly has a beloved black lab named Libby. In her spare time she enjoys crafting, painting and enjoys every moment spent with family and friends.
David Spells, Veterinary Technician, has been at the Annapolis Animal Hospital for 11 years! His journey began part time straight out of high school and grew into great relationships with our staff and patients becoming like a second family. David has a beautiful wife, 3 adorable children, Bailey, Blake and Brianna and a dog named Rocky. When not working at the Annapolis Animal Hospital, David enjoys spending time with his family, building his other businesses, playing golf, poker, bowling, date nights with Caitlin (obviously his wife), praising God and passionately cheering for and attending the Washington Redskins games (through thick and thin).
Mistie McClellan, Veterinary Technician, has worked in the veterinary field for over 20 years. She is owned by two Shiba Inus named Fu and Mahi, a Basenji named Oz, a Persian cat who thinks he’s a dog, named Simba and a DSH rescue named Penny. In her free time Mistie enjoys reading and spending time on the Chesapeake Bay.
Gina Felice, Receptionist, has been a been a member of The Annapolis Animal Hospital Staff since 1999. She started as a technician and is now a part of our front desk staff. Gina is the mother of 2 wonderful kids, Alyssa and Mason. She lives in Elkridge with her husband, her English Bulldog Delilah and her DSH “OJ.”
Amy Young, LVT, has been working as a veterinary technician since 1989. Amy is experienced in small animal exotics, oncology/internal and emergency medicine. In her spare time Amy cares for her cats, dogs, and horse.
